The assignment of SGC is to co-ordinate Swedish industrial interest in R&D concerning gas fuel technology. This is done on a "non profit"-base. The Swedish government represented by Swedish Energy Agency participates in financing the R&D-program. SGC was established in 1990 and is owned by E.ON Gas Sverige AB, E.ON Sverige AB, Göteborg Energi AB, Lunds Energikoncernen AB, Öresundskraft AB and The Swedish Gas Association.

SGC has a staff of 6 and an annual turnover of approximately 2,2 MEuro.
